White blood cells are cells are highly specialized cells that help the body fight bacteria, and infections. They have several types, but the most common two are lymphocytes and neutrophils. The job of the neutrophils are to defend the body against any infections or bacteria. Even though they are found in the blood stream, it's mostly in the tissue where they fight bacteria and infections. White blood cells travel from the blood vessels, to the tissue that is infected. They have a nucleus and therefore can create their own protein and RNA. Having a low number of neutrophil white blood cells in a body greatly increases the chance of a bacterial infection.
